Weekly Rotation – 001

Posted on May 17th, 2012

Well folks, I’m done. AP exams are over and I’m officially throwing in the towel. Senior year, it’s been real, but I have a lady named summer waiting for me. Before making my way outside, I’d like to kick things off with the start of the weekly rotation: a carefully curated weekly post consisting of music videos, new songs, old songs; some form of good tunes. Hope you find something you like, if not, try your luck next week.

Keeping up with this whole blogging thing, once in a while I’ll be posting some interviews, documentaries, etc that I really enjoy. Occasionally, I’ll leave some commentary or maybe just a quote or two, who knows.  Anyways, enjoy.

“Artists have to take a dive; and either you hit your head on a rock and you split your skull and you die, or that blow to your head is so inspiring that you come back up and do the best work you ever did; but you have to take the dive and you do not know what the result will be.”

A Change of Pace

Posted on May 15th, 2012

Every now and then I like to give the ol’ blog a bit of a facelift and this time around I think it’s safe to say we have a winner. Stripped down to the basics, the new site is going to be all about the Life Apparel lifestyle and the overall company vibes. While the online store houses the lookbook, products, etc, this new site layout will be reduced to a simple blog; one that follows the travels and adventures of the Life Apparel family and gives everyone a look as to what this brand really is. Aside from posts following our adventures, I’m starting up a weekly rotation of music as well as posting various documentaries, videos, or interviews all of which relate back to the brand in some fashion. As mentioned in the last post, product releases will also be much simpler from here on out. Rather than launching large lines each drop will be 2-3 products available in limited quantities. As for when each drop will occur, I have no idea, whenever I feel like it’s time to release some new goods, they’ll release. The idea behind all this simplicity is to put a stronger emphasis on the lifestyle we’re trying to create and convey with the brand rather than the goods we’re releasing. The tees are simply a ticket to a much larger adventure; and with everything coming up in the next few months, we’d like to show the rest of the Life Apparel family what exactly this adventure is all about.

More spring goods releasing soon

Spring Tees

Posted on April 30th, 2012

While the site hasn’t been seeing much action these days, I assure you all moves are being made and adventures are being taken. Shirt releases have really changed since the fall line back in September. I’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding when new stuff is releasing, when so and so came out, or whether or not I’m releasing new tees at all anymore. While it may make zero sense, I like this way of running the brand. The focus for me has shifted. The tees will always be here, new releases will always come, and I’ll continue to run this brand as long as I please, but the focus is on the lifestyle; not the tees. Part of the reason the website sees one, maybe two new posts a month is because of a combination of two things: my urgency regarding any type of work (nonexistent) and me being out and about doing whatever the hell I’m doing any given day. Over the course of the next month, I’ll be reducing the website to a simple blog, showcasing the lifestyle of the company and the vibes I’d like to spread with it. The bigcartel will handle all of the business aspects of the company like the store, lookbooks, etc and the home site will simply follow my adventures this summer and show people what the brand is really all about. As for the future in terms of products, like I said, there will always be new tees at some point, I’m just not as caught up in constantly putting new stuff out as I was leading up to these last few drops. Anyways, thank you all for keeping up with the company thus far and being genuinely interested in what I’m creating with it. At this point I always run out of things to say never quite getting my appreciation for the Life Apparel family across, but it’s time to get to the new goods.

One of my favorite releases to date, this drop has a little something for just about everyone. The Spread Good Vibes tees are easily the funkiest tees I’ve ever put out, available in 3 colorways (Camel, Eggplant, Poppy), each with its own wild gradient, these tees are definitely the ideal summer shirt. Next up, the Wander tee is a personal favorite. A simple take on the logo tee, the tees feature a small circle logo on the front chest and a quote on the lower back. One of those tees you can throw on any day of the week with no concern of whether or not you match your shoes or any of that nonsense, these are available in 2 colorways (Apricot & Ash Grey). Lastly, the Beach Ball tee is a simple take on the elephant icon available in 2 colorways (Aqua & Lime) that doesn’t require much explanation. All tees are limited in size and color and are $20 each, available now. All of the remaining stock from the last 2 releases will stay on sale until its sold out, prices and stock for old tees can be found here.

Along with the new tees I’m releasing brand new sticker packs. Last summer the Life Apparel family covered Finland, Ukraine, Jamaica, France, and more with tags. With close to 1800 stickers stocked for the upcoming season, tags will start showing up left and right. Each pack is $5 with 12 stickers (2 of each sticker) and a some random art on the front from yours truly. For all the supporters out of town, the new tees as well as the sticker packs will be available in the online store in two weeks.

Thanks again everybody, I’m looking forward to the summer season and next few things on board for the brand before the school year ends and the real adventures begin!

Thank you all so much for supporting Life Apparel and allowing me to take it as far as I have. I have no intention of stopping with this anytime soon and am really excited to see where it takes me in the future. Now to continue the 1000-fan celebration, I’ll be spoiling some Spring/Summer surprises and sharing some of the projects I’m working on! To start off, there will be 4-5 brand new tees, 2 new tanks, an old design is going to make it onto a new zip-up hoodie, possibly a batch of new belts, snapbacks/fitteds, and I’ll be simplifying the layout of the website into a single column blog for updates and random visuals of my adventures. Also I’m planning on getting Life Apparel into some shops to start spreading these good vibes to new audiences as well getting a few new artists on board to rep the brand. Thanks again to everyone that has been a part of, or is just now joining the Life Apparel family, now 1000 strong.
